Park Accessibility
What are the park hours?
The general park hours are from dawn until dusk; however, some of our facilities, like the pool, have more specific hours.
Renting
Can I rent the facilities?
The Avonworth Community Park offers to everyone the opportunity to rent some of its facilities. Each facility has its own unique features which we have described in detail.
Go to the individual facility pages to get more information about rentals or just give us a call and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Do you have to be a member of the five municipalities to rent the Mayernik Center?
Anyone can rent the Mayernik Center; you do not have to reside within the five municipalities.
When do the seasonal rentals start?
Seasonal rentals start on January 1st of the current rental year. When calling to rent the facility, please remember to include the following:
  • Name
  • Phone number and/or email address
  • Facility
  • Dates
Who can rent the seasonal facilities?
Anyone can rent the seasonal facilities. You do not have to be a resident of the five municipalities.
Are the basketball courts available to rent?
The basketball courts are part of our public park and are not able to rent separately for any reason. They are always opened to the public.
Are the baseball fields available to rent?
The baseball fields can be rented from May-September of each rental year. Please keep in mind that we do have our local baseball and softball teams that utilize these fields during their seasons, which can adjust availability. For rental availability, please contact the office.
What are the hours for the baseball field rentals?
The hours of the rental can vary depending on the time of year and the baseball/softball teams schedules.
Can we use the facilities without being rented?
The facilities are still part of a public park, but please keep in mind if the facility is already rented, you cannot utilize the facility during that specific date/time.
Can you rent the facilities for part of the day?
Facilities rentals can be for any part of the day. The normal rental times are 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Sunday from May-1st week of June and September-October, 4:15 p.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Friday from 2nd week of June-August and 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Can you rent Kids Kingdom?
Kids Kingdom is not available for rent because it is always open to the public, like the basketball courts. However, the Groves next to Kids Kingdom are available to be rented.
Parking and Driving
What is the parking capacity?
We have three rows of parking that can accommodate approximately 25 cars per row, depending on how other cars park. Many are worried due to their event taking place at the park with other events taking place at the same time, the park has yet to run into a parking problem with all of the facilities being rented at the same time.
Can you drive across the bridge for drop-offs?
Cars can only drive across the access bridge when doing drop offs at either the Mayernik Center, Pavilion, or Miller Hall. Please do not park on bridge.
Can any cars be parked at the seasonal facilities?
For the Pavilion and Miller Hall two cars are permitted at each facility. No more than two cars at a time are permitted at each facility. The Grove is not permitted to have any cars parked by or near the facility. If there are any cars parked by the Grove/Kids Kingdom, car can be towed at the owner's expense.
Pool
What are pool hours?
The pool hours are as follows:
  • Monday thru Saturday: 1130 a.m.-730p.m.
  • Wednesday night swim – 8 p.m.-10 p.m.
  • Sunday: 1130 a.m.-7 p.m.
Event Planning and Extras
Can you provide your own alcohol?
The renter provides the hard liquor, wine, and champagne for the Mayernik Center rental. The beer, soda system, & bartenders are through the facility. For more information about the bar, please contact one of the Events Coordinators. For the Pavilion, Miller Hall, and the Groves the renter can provide beer and wine only - no hard liquor is permitted. No alcohol is permitted in Kids Kingdom or on the baseball fields.
Are tables and chairs included in Mayernik Center rental?
The Mayernik Center provides enough tables and chairs for the maximum seating capacity of 200 guests.
Are linens included in the rental?
One of our four approved caterers provides all linens, napkins and skirting. The following tables are provided with:
  • head table: skirting, linens, and napkins
  • gift table: skirting, linens
  • cake table: skirting, linens
  • place card table: skirting, linens
  • guest tables: linens, napkins
Is glassware provided by the facility?
The Mayernik Center provides water glasses for the each guest table and plastic ware for the bar. If you would like to have glassware for the bar, please contact Events Coordinator for further information.
Do you have preferred caterers for the Mayernik Center?
The Mayernik Center has four approved caterers that have to be utilized when renting the facility, no outside caterers can be brought in. Each caterer has their own unique menu and presentation. They are:
  • Erin’s Fine Foods
  • Monteverde's Catering
  • Remo’s Catering
Do you have to use the same caterers for the seasonal rentals?
When renting the seasonal facilities you do not have to use the preferred caterers listed for the Mayernik Center. You can provide your own food or have it catered.
Who provides centerpieces and decorations?
All decorations (centerpieces, mantle, gift box, etc.) are the responsibility of the renter.
Are there specific vendors I need to use for my cake, DJ, florist, etc.?
Any DJ, bakery, or florist can come into the Mayernik Center. We do not have specific vendors that you have to go through except for the caterers.
Who provides bartenders, beer, and soda?
The Mayernik Center provides the beer, soda system, and bartenders for an additional cost.
Who provides the staff for Mayernik Center?
The caterers provide their own staff for serving, bussing, etc. And the Mayernik Center provides bartenders (based on final count and discretion of renter) as well as an Events Coordinator present for the duration of your entire event.
What does the caterer provide?
Each caterer can provide different services depending on the packaget you choose. The basics that each caterer includes in pricing is as follows:
  • linens for tables (white or ivory)
  • colored napkins
  • flatware
  • water glasses
  • bread baskets
  • china
Are tables and chairs included in rental of Miller Hall?
Tables and chairs are included in the rental of Miller Hall. There are enough chairs to seat 60 guests inside and the facility can accommodate up to 100 if the outside picnic tables are utilized. The tables and chairs are set up for the day and can be moved as needed.
How many people can the Pavilion accommodate?
There is enough seating for 200 guests in the Pavilion.
Can the Mayernik Center host business meetings?
The Mayernik Center can host events from small personnel meetings to large classroom style business events. Please speak with one of the Events Coordinators for more information about the style of meeting you’d like to host.
What is the maximum seating capacity for the Mayernik Center?
There is a maximim capacity of 200 seated guests
Facility Amenities
When renting seasonal facilities, am I responsible for my trash?
All renters are responsible for cleaning up the facility and leaving it the way they found it. This includes taking out garbage, replacing the table layout that was found in the facility, etc. Renters need to take their trash to the dumpster located at the end of the main parking lot.
Am I required to pay a damage deposit for all the facilities?
There are damage deposits for every facility at Avonworth Community Park. All damage deposits are refundable as long as nothing happens to the facility and it is left as it was found. If anything happens to the facility while you are under contract as the renter, please contact either Maintenance or one of the Events Coordinators to report problem immediately
Are there charcoal grills?
Every seasonal facility has a charcoal grill present. Renters need to provide their own charcoal.
Is there electricity at the Grove?
The groves do not have electricity present within the actual facility but it is possible to provide electricity to the facility by bringing an extension cord and plugging it into the light pole by the swings.
Is there electricity at the Pavilion?
There is electricity at the Pavilion along with running water but no kitchen facilities.
Is there electricity at Miller Hall?
Miller Hall has electricity and running water along with a kitchen facility that can be utilized by the renter.
Where are the bathrooms located?
The bathrooms for Park patrons are located next to Kids Kingdom. There are separate mens's and women’s facilities each with handicap accessible stalls and running water.
Do any of the seasonal facilities have their own bathrooms?
Miller Hall and the Mayernik Center are the only two facilities that have their own bathrooms.
Other
Is alcohol allowed in the park?
Beer and wine only are permitted at the seasonal rental facilities. There is no alcohol permitted at Kids Kingdom, basketball courts, or baseball fields. This could result in a fine.
